The Yankees are "likely" to sign Chien-Ming Wang after inviting him to work out for scouts in Tampa.
Wang pitched well for Chinese Taipei in the Word Baseball Classic and the deal is expected to be a minor league one.
"We have some vacancies in the rotation at [Triple-A] Scranton, so we're exploring all those options and major league depth," Brian Cashman said. "He obviously had a great time while he was here [with the Yankees], so I think there's some interest on his part. If he was going to have to do a minor league deal somewhere, I think he would probably prefer it to be here."
