Weaver Out At Least Four Weeks With Fractured Elbow

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Apr 9, 2013 6:20 pm

The Los Angeles Angels have placed Jered Weaver on the disabled list with a fractured left elbow.

Weaver will miss at least four weeks.

The 30-year-old suffered the injury against the Rangers on Sunday, jamming his non-throwing arm while dodging a line drive off the bat of Mitch Moreland to start the sixth inning.

"Pretty painful. It feels a little swollen in there," Weaver said after the game. "I can't move it around too good right now. It's strange. Kind of like jamming your thumb."

I think the Angels are giving some time for Weaver to hopefully regain some of his velocity. Either way, the Angels desperately need to acquire some better starting pitching--the 3-5 is brutal.
