There was some concern about whether Ryan Dempster could pitch in the American League when the Boston Red Sox signed him this winter.
So far, the results are good.
In 30 innings pitched, Dempster has 43 strikeouts, 14 walks and a 3.30 ERA.
"It was clear he made some adjustments to the league," manager John Farrell said. "I can't pinpoint the adjustment he made, whether it's been the use of secondary stuff a little bit more in fastball counts, but he's been outstanding here."
