Plans are in the works for the New York Yankees to sign Hideki Matsui to a one-day contract so the slugger can ceremoniously retire with the club.
Matsui spent seven seasons with New York and was the MVP of the 2009 World Series.
The Yankees have a Hideki Matsui Bobblehead Day planned for July 28 at Yankee Stadium, who retired from baseball in December.
