Chicago White Sox right-hander Gavin Floyd has a tear in his flexor muscle near his elbow, which has caused an unstable ulnar collateral ligament.

Floyd could end up having Tommy John surgery to repair the ligament, but that decision won't be made until he meets with orthopedic specialist Dr. David Altchek on Monday.

At the very least, Floyd figures to be out for a significant amount of time.
