The New York Yankees have been using Eduardo Nunez to help fill the hole left behind by Derek Jeter at shortstop this season.
Jeter is not expected to return until after the All-Star break.
A veteran scout that sees the Yankees often doesn't believe that even a healthy Nunez is an adequate replacement for Jeter, now or in the future.
"Nunez is not an everyday player," the scout said. "He's a utility player to me. He's not making as many errors now, but still don't like his defense. I see them hit balls to him, and he doesn't move initially. I don't know if it's instinct or range or speed or what."
