Paul Goldschmidt signed a five-year, $32 million contract extension with the Arizona Diamondbacks this spring.
He has since exploded at the plate, hitting .333 with 12 home runs and 35 RBIs this season.
Goldschmidt isn't concerned with money that may have been left on the table.
"One less thing to worry about," he said.
Goldschmidt has a baseball-best 50 total bases, .926 slugging percentage and 1.402 OPS in May.
"You make the best decision at the time," Goldschmidt said. "I love it in Phoenix. I was happy we got a deal done. And I'm happy to get it done in spring training, so it didn't become a distraction."
