The Nationals have placed Stephen Strasburg on the disabled list with a strained muscle in his back.

Strasburg was unable to make a scheduled bullpen session on Wednesday.

"There's still some tenderness and discomfort there," Davey Johnson said. "So we're going to keep him off the mound for a few more days."
