Ryan Braun lobbied several veteran players for support during his February 2012 appeal, according to sources.

Braun failed a drug test following his 2011 MVP season. He appealed the suspension and was successful because Major League Baseball ruled that his urine sample was compromised.

He wanted to provide information about the collector of his sample, Dino Laurenzi Jr., who he told players is a fan of the division rival Chicago Cubs.

Braun, who is Jewish, also told the players that he had been told the collector was an anti-Semite.
