Matt Harvey will attempt to rehab his injured elbow in an effort to avoid Tommy John surgery.

After getting a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews, Harvey has decided to try to rehab the injury for a month or two, according to a league source.

If his elbow doesn't respond, Tommy John surgery is still possible this offseason.

With the Mets injury luck, this is bound to turn into a disaster. I really hope Harvey regains his form but a total tear in the near future may be inevitable...
