The Cincinnati Reds have fired Dusty Baker three days after the club lost the National League Wild-Card game to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

According to sources, the Reds will replace Baker. He will be paid for 2014, the final year on his contract.

The source also said it was uncertain whether Baker would resign to save face, but the decision was the team's.

Maybe if he didn't put his weakest hitters in the #2 spot all season (lowest OBP and OPS of any spot 1-8) they'd have won the division and he'd still have a job. How a guy this terrible at in-game decisions sticks around for so long, I'll never know.
