The San Francisco Giants have discussed a new contract with Tim Lincecum, but the two-time Cy Young winner won't agree to anything before he finds out what the open market will bring.
Lincecum will become a free agent five days after the conclusion of the World Series.
The Giants presented a two-year deal to Lincecum, but talks haven't progressed since then.
They plan on making him a one-year, $14 million qualifying offer if they can't keep him from free agency.
