There has been speculation that during Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night, there was strange discoloration on the inside of Jon Lester's glove.
One video clip shows the Boston Red Sox left-hander touching the area with the tips of his fingers as he prepares to throw a pitch.
Tyler Melling, a minor leaguer in the St. Louis Cardinals system, tweeted out the following: "Jon Lester using a little Vaseline inside the glove tonight?"
Lester pitched seven-plus shutout innings as the Red Sox took the opener 8-1.
