The New York Yankees are the favorite to sign Robinson Cano this winter, but they are formulating a plan in the event he departs.
According to sources, the Yankees have checked on Omar Infante recently.
The Detroit Tigers aren't going to issue Infante a qualifying offer, which decreases the price to sign the veteran infielder.
