There has been a lot of talk about Curtis Granderson accepting the one-year, $14.1 million qualifying offer from the New York Yankees to rebound from a poor 2013 season and reestablish his value.

Granderson played in just 61 games this past season because of injuries, but Ken Rosenthal points out that he is in a similar position to the one Nick Swisher was in last fall.

Swisher signed a four-year, $56 million deal with the Cleveland Indians.

Granderson's slash line in 2013 was .261/.340/.488, very similar to what Swisher posted in 2012: .256/.361/.467.
