Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers won the National League and American League Cy Young awards, respectively, on Wednesday night.

Kershaw was named the NL's top pitcher for the second time in three seasons.

"This is such a cool thing. I can't even explain what it means to me," Kershaw said in an interview on MLB Network. "It really is a huge honor."

Scherzer took the AL honor after leading the majors with 21 wins.

In separate RealGM polls, 81% of fans voted for Kershaw and 85% for Scherzer.
