Tigers To Add Wally Joyner, Mick Billmeyer To Staff

The Tigers' coaching staff under new manager Brad Ausmus continues to take a veteran shape. A pair of coaches from the Phillies' old staff are the latest additions.
Wally Joyner stepped down from his position as assistant hitting coach with the Phillies on Sunday to fill the Tigers' opening as head hitting coach, according to sources. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports first reported the news on Twitter.
Also making the jump is former Phils bullpen and catching coach Mick Billmeyer, who's expected to fill the bullpen coach role in Detroit.
