Dodgers, Blue Jays Discussed Kemp During GM Meetings

The Toronto Blue Jays have some holes in their roster, but they are still open to a big move.

During the general manager's meetings, the Blue Jays discussed Matt Kemp with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to sources.

Kemp has six years and $160 million left on his contract and the talks didn't gain any traction.

Who would the Dodgers get in return if that trade did happen? Jose Reyes or Encarnacion?

Look at what the Tigers got in return for Prince Fielder... Ian Kinsler?
That's akin to the Jays giving up Rasmus - would do that deal in a heartbeat if I was AA. What do I (or any of us) care about the massive contract Kemp signed? Get the best players you can, and win some games.

Bigger concern is adding an ace. If it's David Price, the Jays will be legit.

Some would say the Fielder/Kinsler deal was a bit lob sided, but it may end up benefiting both sides. Tigers have needed a solid 2B for awhile and the Rangers have been in need of a 1B so it works. The Tigers had to make a choice between Scherzer and Fielder and by keeping Scherzer I think it was the best move. Pitching is hard to come by these days: ace pitchers that is.
