The Baltimore Orioles have activated Manny Machado from the disabled list and he will make his 2014 debut on Thursday night.
Machado hadn't played since undergoing left knee surgery in October. He was not in the lineup for the first game of a doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday, but manager Buck Showalter said Machado would start in the nightcap.
The third baseman was poised to return Tuesday, but rain postponed Baltimore's game against the Pirates.
