Cruz turned out to be a bargain for the Orioles this season after signing a one-year, $8 million deal.
The word is that the club plans to extend a $15.3 million qualifying offer to Cruz.
Cruz hit .271/.333/.525 with 40 home runs and 108 RBIs in 678 plate appearances.
