Ichiro Suzuki Plans To Play In 2015

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Nov 10, 2014 12:29 am

In an MLB Network interview taped last week, Ichiro Suzuki said he fully intends to play at least one more season.

In the interview, set to air Monday at 8 p.m. ET, the 41-year-old free agent outfielder said that he has "every intention" of playing next season, though he's not yet sure where he will call home.

"I can tell you unequivocally that even though I'm 41 years old, I will be playing somewhere next year," Ichiro said during the interview. "That I can say with complete conviction."

The market for Ichiro is still developing at this point, as he comes off a season in which he posted a .284/.324/.340 slash line over 143 games with the Yankees.

Of course Ichiro will play. He's 156 hits from 3,000 and 13 sb from 500

Here are 5 reasons that is significant

1) Rickey Henderson - 3055 hits and 1406 stolen bases (25 seasons)
2) Lou Brock - 3023 hits and 938 stolen bases. (19 seasons)
3) Ty Cobb - 4189 hits and 897 stolen bases. (16 seasons)
4) Eddie Collins - 3315 hits and 741 stolen bases. (20 seasons)
5) Honus Wagner - 3420 hits and 723 stolen bases.(17 seasons)
6) Paul Molitor - 3319 hits and 504 stolen bases. (21 seasons)

Ichiro will be entering his 15th MLB season and has a chance to be the fastest player EVER to reach 3000h 500sb.

13 sb is a given but in order to reach 156 hits he will need a starting situation (OF or DH). Needless to say he wont be on the Yankees in 2015.
