Dave Martinez, who was Joe Maddon's bench coach with the Tampa Bay Rays, will fill the same role with the Chicago Cubs.
Martinez, 50, had been Tampa Bay's bench coach since 2008 while Maddon was the manager there.
He was under consideration for the Rays' managerial position but didn't make the final cut.
