Great move for the White Sox. Sox bullpen was garbage last season. They might have overpaid for Robertson but if you watched the White Sox last season you wouldn't think so. That team needed a reliable arm out of the bullpen. Hopefully him and Duke can fill some of the void. And the White Sox also needed a pitcher just like Samardzija. Quintana is a good but not really an ideal 2nd starter. Samardzija not only fills that role but gives them a righty starter they lacked. Not that righty/lefty matters a ton with starting, but it's always nice to have that balance. If Danks can rebound and start living up to his contract, that pitching staff might be really dangerous.
Offensively Adam LaRoche gives Abreu some protection at least, and with Garcia hopefully healthy the Sox might have a nice 3,4,5 combo there. If Eaton can play like he did last year, he will have plenty of opportunity to score with those 3 hitting behind him.
This team at least now can compete, and give themselves a chance. I don't know if they will win the division, but they won't be an easy team to beat. At least on paper.
