Cole Hamels, who has been available since last summer, can still be acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies for a steep price.
Four primary suitors remain for the left-hander, according to sources, the San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox.
The Phillies will not move Hamels unless they get the haul they are looking for in return.
Hamels is signed through 2018 at $96 million and possibly through 2019 at $110 million if his option kicks in.
