Wilson Betemit has been suspended for 50 games after a positive test for a banned amphetamine under baseball's Minor League drug program.
Betemit, who played for Tampa Bay's Triple-A team in Durham last year, is a free agent.
His suspension will start when he signs with another Major League organization.
