Kershaw Erupts In Dugout, Expresses Frustration

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 18, 2015 11:48 am

Clayton Kershaw was visibly frustrated in the dugout after allowing a long home run to Joey Gallo of the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.

"When he got to the dugout, he erupted. He bent over and stuffed his face in his glove, apparently yelling," Mark Saxon writes. "He slammed his glove off the bench, whipped a towel off the bench, then plucked off his cap and threw that down, too. He pounded his feet a couple of times on the dugout floor. No one else was within 20 feet of him on the bench."

Kershaw called it "the most frustrating game I've ever pitched."

The Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander leads the Major Leagues with 122 strikeouts, but has a 3.29 ERA and the club is just 8-6 in his starts.

He has grown increasingly frustrated with his high pitch counts and inability to pitch deep into games, wondering out loud Wednesday night whether the strikeouts are part of the problem.
