The Houston Astros and San Diego Padres are working on a significant trade, but nothing is close, according to a source.
Tyson Ross and Craig Kimbrel have both been discussed. Houston is still looking for bullpen help after adding Scott Kazmir to the rotation and Carlos Gomez to the outfield.
San Diego could add an outfielder in the deal. The Astros would appear to have one to move after acquiring Gomez from the Milwaukee Brewers.
