Mets Plan To Pitch Harvey In Playoffs

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Sep 4, 2015 8:04 pm

The New York Mets plan to proceed with a plan that will allow Matt Harvey to pitch in the postseason.

Doctors and agent Scott Boras have recommended a limit of 180 innings for Harvey, who is in his first season following Tommy John surgery.

Harvey has pitched 166⅓ innings in 2015, leaving room for just a few more starts before the cap of 180 is surpassed.

The Mets plan to skip Harvey at least once this month and move to a six-man rotation to reduce the workload on their young starters.

Everyone should be available for the playoffs, I hate this 'we have to protect them for the future' BS. You don't know where you will be after this year, you have a good team, and sometimes all it takes is a little spark to fire up a World Series run, so go for it! Plus Harvey grew up in my area and I played baseball with and against him for a few years in Babe Ruth, so I want to see him and the Mets finally win something :P
