As crazy as it sounds, there is a growing belief that Bryce Harper could sign baseball's first $500 million contract when he hits free agency in a few years.

Joe Posnanski writes that Harper has become the best player in baseball, he'll be a free agent at the perfect time following the 2018 season when he'll be just 26 and his agent is Scott Boras.

Mike Trout is the best player in baseball and will get as much or more than Harper. Both contracts will be insane regardless.

Except Trout signed a 6 year extension w the Angels just before the 2014 season.
