Red Sox On Pace To Have Historic Offense

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 13, 2016 11:58 am

The Boston Red Sox have scored 51 runs in their last four games, pushing their runs per game average to 5.91 entering the weekend.

They are on pace to score more than 957 runs, which would rank as the third-highest total in franchise history behind only the 2003 team (961) and the 1950 club led by Ted Williams (1,027).

What is unique about this season's outburst is the current offensive environment in baseball. Using wRC+, which which considers a team's offensive statistics, ballpark factors and the league run-scoring environment, and then scales it so 100 is a league-average offense, the 2016 Red Sox have the best offensive in baseball history.
