Yankees Could Make Run At Re-Signing Aroldis Chapman

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Sep 26, 2016 11:48 am

The New York Yankees are expected to make a run at re-signing Aroldis Chapman, who they traded to the Chicago Cubs this summer.

New York could easily have success with Dellin Betances as their closer, Chapman is more athletic on the mound and as a left-hander he controls the running game better.

Opposing base runners have stolen just one base in two tries against Chapman this season.

Considering that the 43 year old 350+lb Bartolo Colon will be one of the best free agent STARTING pitchers this winter, yeah, maybe focusing on signing the best RELIEF pitcher on the market would be the best idea...especially considering the Yankees have exactly 1 reliable starter (Tanaka). Heck might as well sign Kenley Jensen and a couple of top setup men to go with Chapman and Betances.
