Giants, Yankees Aren't Seriously Pursuing Jose Bautista

Jose Bautista isn't drawing serious interest from the New York Yankees or San Francisco Giants, according to a report.

Jon Morosi reports that neither club is "seriously pursuing" Bautista.

Bautista will require draft pick compensation because he turned down a qualifying offer from the Toronto Blue Jays.

How is not attracting interest news?

Why pick out two teams at random and mention their disinterest? Are Boston and Tampa also not interested? Is their disinterest less newsworthy?

Probably because those two teams have the ability to pay Jose, and have a need for a player like him?
