The Chicago Cubs and Kris Bryant have agreed to a one-year, $1.05 million deal for 2017, making the reigning National League MVP the highest-paid player ever in his second year of service time.
Bryant won't be eligible for arbitration until next year.
The deal surpasses the 2014 contract of Mike Trout, who re-signed then for an even $1 million.
