Jeff Samardzija's contract gives him the ability to block a trade to all but eight teams and he's not expected to waive that clause.
The San Francisco Giants can trade Samardzija to the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics and Washington Nationals without his consent.
Samardzija signed a five-year, $90 million deal with the Giants before the 2016 season.
