Steven Matz To Undergo Elbow Surgery

Steven Matz is dealing with a nerve issue in his pitching elbow and will undergo a procedure to reposition his ulnar nerve, the New York Mets have announced.

The surgery is expected to occur in the coming days.

Matz, 26, has only pitched 66 2/3 innings and has a 6.08 ERA, 6.5 K/9 and 2.6 BB/9 this season.
