The Washington Nationals are reportedly "monitoring" Jake Arrieta despite what would seem to be a well-stocked rotation.
The Nationals are the favorites to win the National League East, but adding the right-hander would give them a potential playoff rotation of Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg and Arrieta.
The remainder of Washington's rotation is currently Gio Gonzalez, Tanner Roark and A.J. Cole.
Arrieta is represented by Scott Boras, who has a strong history of dealing with the Nationals.
