Yankees Want To Add Starting Pitcher Without Trading Clint Frazier

The New York Yankees want to add an impact starter to their rotation, but would prefer to do so without moving Clint Frazier.

There isn't a lot of playing time currently available for Frazier in New York, but the club likes his potential.

The Yankees acquired Frazier, the No. 5 pick in 2013, from the Cleveland Indians in the Andrew Miller trade in 2016.

Well duh. You don't want to look eager and you want to aim for a #2 starter after Sevy. If a Frazier package gets you a #2 you do it.
