2017 No. 2 Pick Hunter Greene Shut Down With Elbow Injury

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Aug 4, 2018 12:46 am

Hunter Greene has been shut down with an elbow injury.

The Cincinnati Reds hope Greene will avoid surgery.

"Right now, it's rehab," said Cincinnati general manager Nick Krall. "It's not surgical at this point. We're going to evaluate it as we move through the offseason, and go from there."

Greene was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 amateur draft. He received a $7.2 million signing bonus that was the largest ever for a draftee.

Greene was the No. 13 prospect in all of baseball by Keith Law.

Royce Lewis the player drafted before Hunter Greene has been lighting it up in the minors and getting promoted. What prospect number does Keith Law give him.

I searched the interweb and found that Lewis started the season ranked 25th. He should have moved up based on his numbers so far.

Edit: OK answered my own question. Lewis is currently at #11. Part of his upgrade is due to six players on the prospects list graduating to the majors.
