Bryce Harper, Manny Machado Both Prefer Not To Sign With Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies have been planning for this offseason for years and are loaded with money to pursue free agents.
Both Bryce Harper and Manny Machado have received interest from the Phillies, but word is neither player particularly likes Philadelphia. Furthermore, Harper and Machado both would have preferred to sign with the New York Yankees.
The Yankees have shown little interest in signing Harper.

Forget the Phillies, come to the Mets, Bryce!!! Machado is a slouch, send him to the Yankees.

I think the idea that both hate Philly and love New York, coming from a NY Post reporter, might be a little self-serving conjecture on the reporter's part.
I also realize, on the whole, players would typically rather be in LA or NY than anywhere else.
