Average MLB Game Time Rises To Record 3:05:35

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Sep 30, 2019 5:14 am

The average time of a nine-inning game reached a record length in the major leagues this season.

Major League Baseball said Sunday the final figure for the 2019 regular season was 3 hours, 5 minutes, 35 seconds. That topped the 3:05:11 in 2017.

The average had dropped to 3:00:44 in 2018, helped by new restrictions that cut mound visits without pitching changes.

MLB\'s average was 2:46 in 2005.

They are going to have to put a clock on a players HR trot.

If you can't make it from homeplate to homeplate in X amount of seconds, it's no longer a HR, it's an out!

So, not only are their time-saving measures not working, they're making the problem worse? What's contributing to this increase in game time?
