The New York Yankees are going hard after Gerrit Cole in free agency and are looking to make a move to create space.
New York is shopping J.A. Happ in an effort to clear payroll space to use on Cole.
Happ, 37, is owed $17 million for next season with a $17 million option for 2021 that will vest with 27 starts or 165 innings in 2020.
