The Boston Red Sox will pay a record $13.4 million luxury tax despite failing to make the playoffs this past season.
The only other clubs that received tax bills were the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs.
The Yankees owe $6.7 million, while the Cubs must pay $7.6 million, according to reports.
