The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres with a 12-3 win on Thursday.

L.A. advances to the NLCS to face the Atlanta Braves.

Will Smith entered Game 3 having gone 0-for-11 in the postseason, but made franchise history in the clinching game. The catcher went 5-for-6 with two doubles, a run and three RBI.

Smith is now the record holder for the most hits in a postseason game in Dodgers history.

It was only the ninth time in Major League history a player has had five hits in a postseason game.
