Yankees Will \'Absolutely Consider\' Going Over Luxury Tax

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jul 2, 2021 12:35 pm

Hal Steinbrenner says Aaron Boone is safe as manager of the New York Yankees but changes could still be coming to the club.

Steinbrenner says he\'d \"absolutely consider\" allowing Brian Cashman to go over the luxury tax threshold in order to help the Yankees make the playoffs. With just one win in their last five games, New York is 41-39 and 8 1/2 games back in the American League East.

According to Cot\'s Contracts, the Yankees are less than $3 million from the tax threshold.

How about a competitive rebuild? Pitching is the biggest issue. Trade some names, get pitching prospects, try again in a year or 2.
