With a young pitching staff in need of reliable veteran innings, the Pirates struck a one-year deal on Sunday with left-handed starter José Quintana, a source told MLB.com.
A source said the deal is believed to be in the $2 million range. The club has not confirmed the signing, which is pending a physical.
