The manager shaved the salt-and-pepper beard he grew prior to this season, hoping to kick start the 10-19 club.
\"If we win 10 in a row, it\'s on me because I should have recognized that before,\" Cora said with a smile.
Perhaps the move worked as the Red Sox defeated the Atlanta Braves 9-4 to end a five-game losing streak.
\"If our offense depends on my facial hair, we\'re in big trouble,\" Cora said after the game.
