The New York Mets held a Zoom meeting with Justin Verlander as the club considers him as a potential replacement for Jacob deGrom, according to a report.
Like Verlander, deGrom is a free agent.
The Mets would like to re-sign deGrom, but they are believed to be considering a shorter-term, higher-annual-average contract.
