Beginning this season, technology will be integrated into baseball broadcasts on MLB Network and Apple TV+, allowing viewers to watch umpires connecting with the MLB replay operations center in an effort to provide transparency to fans in critical game moments.

\"With instant replay, so many people have asked us what is actually going on?\" MLB chief revenue officer Noah Garden said. \"We hope that we can provide a glimpse to give a view of the communications on the field and between the umpires and the replay room.\"

Viewers will be able to watch the replay room go through different angles of any plays in question and allow fans to see who is communicating with umpires.

Cool. Now what about home plate technology? Or challenging called strikes or balls? It's extremely evident that umps of today are not nearly as competent/ accurate as they should be. Seems like everyday there are game changing results that occur through inept umpires making crucial mistakes with absolutely zero consequence. At the VERY LEAST, let managers challenge a pitch. Sure it'll slow down the game, but those moments are actually entertaining for viewers. It builds up a lot of anticipation, but most importantly it maintains the integrity of the game - which is more important in baseball than in other American sports due to its long long history. Embrace the future and the technology that comes with it......
