Minnesota Twins right-hander Tyler Mahle will undergo Tommy John surgery.
Mahle will miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign and the early portion of the 2024 season as well. He\'s scheduled to become a free agent at season\'s end.
The Twins traded three prospects to acquire Mahle from the Cincinnati Reds at last summer\'s trade deadline.
The 28-year-old had a 3.16 ERA and 28 strikeouts over 25 2/3 innings pitched this season.
