Dodgers\' Dustin May To Undergo Season-Ending Elbow Surgery
Dustin May will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the flexor tendon in his right elbow on July 18, the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced.
May missed much of the 2021 and 2022 seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He has made a total of 20 starts over the past three seasons.
He was 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA in nine starts this season, but his velocity dropped off noticeably in a May 17 start. He was lifted after only one inning because of a strained right elbow and placed on the injured list shortly thereafter.
\"It sucks,\" Dave Roberts said. \"The work that he put in after the TJ and to get back and to kind of go through this again, it\'s disappointing for all of us. Our hope is that he gets back with us sometime next year, but I just don\'t know when.\"
